`KIDS' ARE ALL RIGHT: The sight of Antonio Banderas in a white T-shirt, sunglasses and baseball hat was reason enough to brave the blistering Hollywood heat Sunday afternoon, at the premiere party for ``Spy Kids 2: The Island of Lost Dreams.''

The parking lot behind Hollywood Boulevard became a small carnival for the lucky guests, including Jennie Garth and Pamela Anderson, who both brought their kids to the post-film powwow.

``I had a great time on the movie,'' said Alexa Vega, who in the film once again joins dad Banderas in the spy game. ``It was like a family reunion.''

A reunion with a few added players this time around. Steve Buscemi and Ricardo Montalban signed on for the sequel, adding even more star wattage to the celeb-filled cast.

``Steve was amazing,'' Vega said. ``He's just an incredible actor.'' Buscemi grabbed a table near the Kid Rock-less Anderson, who shied away from cameras and stood in line with her cutie-pie sons for turns on the ferris wheel and bumper cars.

Banderas and his wife, Melanie Griffith, checked out the all-American eats, from barbecue and baked beans to fresh apple pie. The blazing sun led many guests to the ice cream truck, while Haley Joel Osment camped out at a reserved table stocked with old-fashioned bottled Cokes and plenty of agua. The blaring hip-hop music seemed amusing against the backdrop of family fun, but hey, if the kids like it, that's all that matters.

MARTINIZING: It's very fitting that Martin Lawrence wore white from head to toe for the premiere of his new stand-up comedy concert film ``Runteldat.'' With its release today, he wipes the slate clean and starts all over again.

Lawrence gives it all up in the movie, explaining in painful detail what happened to him before the life-changing coma he succumbed to for three days back in 1999. (He even reveals he was high on bad pot when he was arrested on Ventura Boulevard a couple of years ago.)

``It takes a lot of (guts) to do what he did in the film,'' said Sean Patrick Thomas (``Save the Last Dance'') at the posh Sunset Room party afterward, where soft lighting and quiet music set a low-key mood. ``It gives people a lot more ammunition to hurt you, when you give them that information. I give him a lot of credit for doing it.''

Thomas and many of Lawrence's other pals turned out in force for the premiere to support the actor's personal resurrection; and no one grumbled at the over-the-top security that surrounded the event, as all attendees submitted to searches and and metal detectors both at the Arclight Cinema screening and across the street at the Sunset Room party.

Athletes including ex-NBA great John Salley, Olympic gold medalist Carl Lewis and ex-Dallas Cowboy Michael Irvin made the scene, along with performers Ice Cube, r&b singer Tyrese and Cedric the Entertainer, whose eponymous variety show debuts this fall on Fox television.

And while the Sunset Room dance floor remained bare for most of the festivities, the crowd seemed perfectly happy to gossip noisily while sipping martinis and crunching on coconut shrimp and little bites of tuna sashimi served on, of all things, a potato chip.
