``What we worry about is whether it's funny, pure and simple,'' Guest said of his mockumentary. ``If you start worrying about what kids are going to like, then that's a different business. Some other people are in that business, but Gene (Levy, who co-wrote and also stars in the film) and I try to make each other laugh and do something that we find fun to do, and hope it works out. I think if you sit at home and start thinking about that, then we're out of our realm.'' Everyone at the hootenanny hoot·en·an·ny

FOR THE HOLE FAMILY: It seems that fans of the best-selling book ``Holes'' have Sigourney Weaver's daughter, Charlotte Simpson, to thank for her mom's role as the diabolical camp warden in the film version, arriving in theaters today.

``It's her favorite book,'' Weaver said at the premiere party on the top floor of the Hollywood & Highland complex. ``I am not offered many movies that my daughter can even see, so I just did it. Plus the chance to play someone evil and to work with all these great people was wonderful.''

With a cast including Jon Voight, Tim Blake Nelson, Henry Winkler and a slew of up-and-coming child actors, ``Holes'' tells the tale of unlucky Stanley Yelnats IV (Shia LaBeouf) and his family's century-old curse.

Voight arrived with Alaskan crooner Jewel, earning them the Oddest Pair award of the evening. ``I am just a family friend,'' Jewel explained.

Wolfgang Puck's southwestern theme was right on target for the after-party with sea bass in mole sauce, black beans and mixed vegetable salad. For dessert, guests grabbed chocolate-dipped frozen bananas, chocolate mousse and peach cookies.

It was definitely a family-friendly throw-down. David Hasselhoff brought his kids, while Marilu Henner escorted her son to the psychic tent, where people either had their palms or tarot tarot
