TINSELTOWN SPYWITNESS.

Byline: Elizabeth Snead

STILLS OF THE NIGHT: Film and fashion aficionados flocked to see iconic '60s fashion model Veruschka at ``Murder, Models and Madness'' at the HG Gallery in Hollywood. The exhibition's Thursday opening was a benefit for the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation was founded in 1988 by Elizabeth Glaser, Susan DeLaurentis, and Susie Zeegen. Glaser and her husband, actor Paul Michael Glaser, learned that Mrs. Glaser had been infected with HIV through a blood transfusion. .

The 6-foot-tall former supermodel, wearing a long flaming-red wig, red silk and sequins, came to see a just-unearthed collection of never-before- seen stills from ``Blow-Up,'' the 1966 film that made her a household name, also starring David Hemming and Vanessa Redgrave.

The stills, which range from experimental arty shots to staged publicity, from fashion to personality portraits, will be displayed for sale for a month.

. ``It's nice to look at the photos,'' she said in her husky, Russian-accented growl. ``But it was such a long time ago and I had such a small role. I became famous after this film, you know? But I never understood why the film was so popular and why it's still so appreciated. It's a mystery.''

It's also a mystery who actually shot the photos. ``The photos had been in a private collection in New York for decades,'' said curator David Willis, who put together the exhibit from 700 stills. ``That person died and then someone approached me to see if I could do anything with them. I would love to know who took them. Even Veruschka has no idea who it was.''

MAKES SCENTS: The sweet smell of success wafted through the opening-night party for Alex Balahoutis' Strange Invisible Perfumes, a new fragrance lab/boutique in Venice.

Balahoutis is the daughter of author Linda Bruckheimer and high-powered producer Jerry Bruckheimer. Perfume has been her passion for years. She studied the art and science of fragrance while living in Prague, Paris and New York.

Asked what scents evoke L.A.: ``Blood oranges, eucalyptus, rosemary and, of course, jasmine.''

Now her friends and fans can't live without her signature and custom blends, including party guests like mom and dad, Ridley Scott, Lisa Rinna and Harry Hamlin, Shiva Rose, Cuba Gooding Jr., Molly Sims, comedian Jon Lovitz, supermodel/actress Rachel Hunter and jewelry designers Loree Rodkin and Cathy Waterman.

Hot young Hollywood director/screenwriter Adam Rifkin turned up with the notoriously press-shy billionaire Steve Bing. Rifkin is currently working on ``Welcome to Hollywood,'' an original series for AMC (Advanced Mezzanine Card) See AdvancedTCA.  based on his faux documentary by the same name.

The series will air in June and is currently shooting around town. Rifkin, playing himself, finds an actor whom he thinks has ``it,'' follows the person's struggles to make it and, natch, everything goes horribly (and hysterically) wrong. Expect lots of celeb ce·leb

Asked what he thinks L.A. smells like, Rifkin, who just finished writing the script for ``Where's Waldo,'' succinctly replied, ``Money.''

Wonder if Balahoutis can bottle that one.

Fervent fans of MTV's Emmy-winning reality show lined up around the block (and in the cold) to get Ozzy, Sharon, Kelly and Jack Osbourne's autographs on their freshly purchased DVDs. Ozzy, in black with his trademark blue round shades, slightly stunned by all the flashbulbs, was first to arrive and take his seat at the table inside the book section of the store. He was followed by a beaming and beautiful Sharon, chic in a leopard print coat, black turtleneck and pants. Asked to pose for a photo with Ozzy, she leaned over and gave him a big kiss, then wiped her peach lip gloss off his open mouth.

Finally Kelly trotted in, wearing purple highlights in her hair and a gold lame vintage jacket, followed by a wild- and frizzy-haired Jack, riding piggyback piggyback

The family looked at ease, perhaps relieved that filming for their TV series was over and that Sharon had her last checkup after months of chemotherapy for colon cancer colon cancer, cancer of any part of the colon (often called the large intestine). Colon cancer is the second most common cancer diagnosed in the United States.  at Cedars-Sinai earlier in the afternoon.

But there's no rest for this wickedly funny family. Kelly has her singing career to cope with. And with her cancer in remission, Sharon is now working on her talk show that will start filming this summer and air in September in syndication (and locally on KTLA KTLA KCBS TV in Los Angeles ). She's also working on the Sharon Osbourne Colon Cancer Foundation that she'll make a public announcement about on March 19 with Elton John in Los Angeles. There are already so many organizations raising money for research and future cures, but Sharon wants hers to help people diagnosed with cancer who need immediate financial help for chemotherapy, radiation treatments and home care.

But if laughter is the best medicine, then the new Osbournes DVD ($29.99) should cure everyone's ailments. As well as the entire first season, the two-disc set contains never-before-seen footage, cast interviews, commentary tracks, bloopers, an Osbourne bingo game and a translation segment for some of Ozzy's more incomprehensible TV moments.

For true fans, there's even an uncensored version for more wit and wisdom from the first family. Which one do the Osbournes prefer? A smiling Sharon says, ``We love the bleeps. We think the bleeps are absolutely hilarious.''
