TINSELTOWN SPYWITNESS.

ONE BEN, TWO JENS: Are they or aren't they?

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez were most definitely together for the premiere of his new action adventure film, ``Daredevil,'' at the Mann Village Theatre in Westwood.

Both signed autographs and shook the hands of screaming fans who lined the streets. But then J.Lo let her main man walk the carpet solo. She stood a few feet behind as he talked to reporters, smiling and looking sweetly supportive in her strapless strap·less

So it was up to Benny boy to field questions and queries about their relationship, marriage plans and, oh yeah, the movie. Asked why his gal wasn't walking with him, Affleck explained, ``We thought it would be better because when we're together, it becomes more about us and our relationship than about the film - and that defeats the purpose of being here.''

But the happily married acting duo of ``A.U.S.A.'' star Scott Foley Scott Kellerman Foley (born July 15, 1972) is an American actor. He is best known for his screen roles on Felicity, A.U.S.A., Scream 3, and The Unit.  and ``Alias'' babe Jennifer Garner Jennifer Anne Garner[1] (born April 17, 1972) is an Emmy-nominated and Golden Globe- and SAG Award-winning American actress. She first became known for her role as CIA agent Sydney Bristow on TV's Alias. , who plays Affleck's kung fu cutie-pie love interest in the film, did their press walk together. Any advice for Ben and Jen? Garner and Foley exchanged a glance and smiled. Garner offered, ``Keep it private.'' Foley added, ``Think they'll listen?''

As for the stress of premieres, Garner, wearing a Roberto Cavalli dusty- pink gown said, ``We enjoy it. We treat these events like dates and a chance to get dressed up for each other. Doesn't he look handsome?''

Colin Farrell definitely doesn't look at premieres as a chance to dress up. Wearing black jeans and a beige T (showing off his Tahitian tattoos and a scar from barbed wire barbed wire, wire composed of two zinc-coated steel strands twisted together and having barbs spaced regularly along them. The need for barbed wire arose in the 19th cent.  that he got while filming ``Hart's War''), he smoked a cigarette while he talked to reporters.

``Am I having fun?'' he responded. ``Oh yeah, this is how I love to spend my Sunday afternoon. In fact, when there isn't a premiere, I pay people to stand outside and scream and wave at me. I love it.''

, Farrell denied any romantic involvement with Britney Spears, who rode in his limo to the Hollywood premiere of ``The Recruit.''

``Nyah, I haven't seen her since that night. She's just a friend. She was one of about 30 people in the limo that night.''

In fact, the night looked like more of a business dinner, which, in fact, premieres really are. Affleck gobbled some pizza and guzzled a Diet Coke, then made the rounds talking to directors, producers and agents.

talking with her sister and two well-dressed men who kept admiring and smoothing her upswept bun. Hey, maybe they were hairdressers planning a wedding hairdo? But there was one friend Affleck made a point to hang with: Joey Kindregan, 15, who arrived in a wheelchair.

``Joey met Ben on the set of ``Forces of Nature'' in '98,'' said Joey's mom, Suzi Kindregan. ``Then he got a Make-a-Wish to go to the premiere. He and Ben met again and exchanged e-mails and have been pals ever since. They just clicked. And we've become like his groupie family.''

Joey suffers from Ataxia-Telangiectasia, or AT, a rare genetic disorder. ``These kids don't live past their teens,'' his mom said softly. ``That's why every birthday now is so precious, and Ben knows that.''

Why open such a dark, twisted love story on Valentine's Day?

``In Japan, they call this a 'date movie,' '' Laetitia Colombani, who wrote and directed the movie, said with a shrug. And with favorite films such as ``Rosemary's Baby,'' ``Repulsion'' and ``Psycho,'' she admits a personal fondness for insane characters.
