TINSELTOWN SPYWITNESS.

Byline: Jenny Peters

JUST RUMORS: They aren't quite married yet in real life, but Brittany Murphy and Ashton Kutcher sure were cozy at the premiere of their new romantic comedy ``Just Married'' on Wednesday night.

``What I've learned over the past couple of weeks, particularly, is that you can't worry about your reputation,'' she said. ``Because all that matters are the people that love you. If you know who you are, and you're a solid person, which I am ... I know that I'm honest, I know that I am loyal, I know my best qualities, I know my worst qualities, and those that love me know those things as well. So the rest of it, that's not true? It's not true. And you can't let that get to you or it will eat you alive.''

Murphy added, ``And today's New York Post The New York Post is the 13th-oldest newspaper published in the United States and the oldest to have been published continually as a daily.[3] Since 1976, it has been owned by Australian-born billionaire Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation and is one of the 10  is tomorrow's fish wrapping!''

On hand to lend their support to the happy couple's big night were the film's director, Shawn Levy, and stars Christian Kane, David Moscow and blond bombshell Valeria. Friends in attendance included Angie Everhart, Vincent Young, Vanessa Paradis, Jon Voight, Cris Judd and Andy Dick.

HORSE PLAY: The cowboy contingent was out in full force Wednesday night on the Warner Bros. lot to attend the premiere of TNT's newest made-for-television Western, the Tom Selleck starrer ``Monte Walsh.''

The strikingly beautiful story of the last days of the Old West unspooled to overflowing crowds in three theaters, and the elaborately bedecked attendees (think chaps, boots, massive turquoise, even holsters and gun belts) roared their approval for this return to the days of old.

``I think Westerns are part of our history,'' Selleck, dressed more traditionally in a soft suede jacket and slacks, reflected at the gala after-party that began in the Warner Bros. Museum and spilled into the lobby of the Steven Ross Theater.

``It's part of our mythology,'' he said. ``I don't know why people always separate westerns, and talk about them as a special genre, but I think it is because they have always been so universal. They will always be there. They are always timeless. This movie won't date.''

Co-star Keith Carradine certainly agreed, proving his love of the timelessness of the West by dressing as the classic man in black, from cowboy hat and duster to silver-buckle belt and tooled boots. He and Selleck were joined by numerous other stars of the oater oat·er

A WIN 'WIN' SITUATION: Pink was the color of the room, but black was the hue that adorned just about everyone who attended the ``Promesse to Win'' Breast Cancer Research Foundation Gala on Thursday night at the Astra West party space in the Pacific Design Center. Thora Birch really did wear a little black dress, as did Kelly Hu, whose extremely long and stick-straight black hair glistened beautifully against the pink and red tones that reflected off the casino tables scattered around the room, designed for faux gambling that all gave to the cause, the eradication of breast cancer. Estella Warren wore a long black dress, and Evelyn Lauder, sponsor and chair of the foundation, got the memo about wearing black to the party as well. But Garcelle Beauvais, in a bright yellow minidress and impossibly high yellow heels, and Lisa Rinna, bedecked in a brown and cream Op Art retro dress and skinny tan suede boots, apparently did not, and both looked terrific despite choosing color over the almost universal darkness. The well-lubricated crowd sipped pink cosmopolitans, rose wine and watermelon watermelon, plant (Citrullus vulgaris) of the family Curcurbitaceae (gourd family) native to Africa and introduced to America by Africans transported as slaves. Watermelons are now extensively cultivated in the United States and are popular also in S Russia.  Pucker puck·er

The editor of Britain's GQ magazine, Dylan Jones, admits that February's cover photo of actress Kate Winslet was ``digitally manipulated'' to make the ``Titanic'' star appear thinner than she actually is. He also says the actress approved the results.
