The Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles The Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles (GMCLA) has been a notable part of the Southern California performing arts community for over twenty-six years. Barry Manilow confessed ``I always wanted to marry Elton John,'' before deftly marrying Elton's ``Your Song'' and his own ``This One's for You.''

After an hour of incredible performances, Elton accepted his Ella Award from Manilow with a short speech: ``I am truly humbled to accept this award because I grew up listening to the masters - Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Ray Charles and Ella Fitzgerald. I didn't start singing until I was 20, and before that I was a really bad organist in a band. So Barry might well have ended up with someone else. But I couldn't really have married you, Barry. There would have been too much fuss in front of the mirror.''
