TINSELTOWN SPYWITNESS.

Byline: Elizabeth Snead and Joel Stratte-McClure

`EXPRESS' OPINIONS: Fasten your seat belts. Salma Hayek wants you to see ``Secuestro Express.'' And she hopes you'll tell your friends to go see it, too.

That's why she hosted a special screening of the Venezuelan film at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood West Hollywood

. ``A lot of people I love are involved in this film,'' Hayek explained. ``There's an incredible passion behind this project because the subject matter is so very important for the Latin community.''

Director Robert Rodriguez's wife, producer Elizabeth Avellan (``Sin City,'' ``Once Upon a Time in Mexico,'' ``From Dusk Till Dawn,'' ``Desperado''), got on board the film written and directed by young Venezuelan filmmaker Jonathan Jakubowicz.

``Elizabeth is one of the best producers I have ever worked with,'' raved her fan Hayek. ``She inspired me to become a producer because she does her job with a very human, mothering approach.''

Hayek wasn't the only Latin lovely supporting ``Secuestro.'' Jessica Alba Jessica Marie Alba (born April 28, 1981) is an American actress. She is known for her roles in Honey, Dark Angel, Sin City, Fantastic Four, Into the Blue and Idle Hands.  and Eva Mendes, the latter sporting a cap that made her look like a '60s airline stewardess, also turned up.

BAD TO THE BONE: Kate Hudson could easily have raised the dead at the premiere of ``The Skeleton Key'' in her very sheer, very sexy vintage Versace beaded black gown and black G-string.

Sipping a beer and puffing a ciggie at a table with her husband, Chris Robinson, Hudson looked forward to shooting another Universal film, ``You, Me and Dupree,'' with Matt Dillon as her new hubby and Owen Wilson as his friend that moves in with them. For good.

Her ``Key'' co-star Peter Sarsgaard is busy, too. He has three other films coming out this fall: ``Flightplan'' with Jodie Foster, ``Dying Gaul'' with Patricia Clarkson and Campbell Scott, and ``Jarhead jar·head

``I'm interested in entertaining different audiences, and I think I've done that this year,'' Sarsgaard said. ``I don't think the same people will go see me in all these movies - so hopefully they won't get sick of me.'' Oh, hardly.

Hudson's other co-stars, Gena Rowlands and John Hurt, the film's creepy couple, showed up later at the party. But ``Key'' director Iain Softley (``The Wings of a Dove'') went missing and was rumored to be lost in the theme park.

Hey, great idea for a horror movie.

DADDY KNOWS BEST: Who says reality TV's dead? Certainly not Joe Simpson, Jessica and Ashlee's minister-turned-manager dad.

After choreographing his daughters' rise to fame on reality shows, the spiky-haired pop is now producing E! Network's new show ``Filthy Rich: Cattle Drive,'' starring Fabian Basabe and Haley Giraldo.

And as well as managing singer Ryan Cabrera's musical career, he's also found a new boy band called Barefoot.

``They're like the Eagles,'' Joe bragged to a TV camera crew at E! Network's Summer Splash party. ``The Eagles of the present day,'' he quickly clarified. Haven't heard of them? Don't worry. You will.

Ashlee and Ryan loyally came to support Joe's new ventures at the bash held in the Tropicana, that hip Hollywood hang-out. While Joe did his manager/producer duties, the couple wandered, Ash holding onto Ryan with her fingers stuck in his back pocket.

There was a surreal array of guests: the stars of several E! shows such as ``Kill Reality'' and ``The Modern Girl's Guide to Life,'' Hard Rock heir Harry Morton, E! host Giuliana DePandi, former ``Hulk'' Lou Ferrigno, Bruce Jenner, ``Less Than Perfect's'' Sara Rue, Brittny Gastineau and her mom, Lisa, and Nicole Richie's fiance DJ AM. Seems little Nic was at a hoity-toity Glamour bash at L'Ermitage in Beverly Hills.

Even Playboy magnate Hugh Hefner arrived with his blond babes Holly Madison, Bridget Marquardt and Kendra Wilkinson, the stars of E!'s ``The Girls Next Door,'' a show that reveals the playmates' astonishingly a·ston·ish

 mundane real lives.

The party, held literally in and around the hip and trendy Tropicana pool, featured a synchronized swimming team, clad in ``E-kinis,'' performing water ballet to Queen's ``We Will Rock You.''

Apparently inspired by the attention the aquatic gals received, Cabrera got into the swim of things. Before eve's end, Cabrera jumped into the pool, making quite a splash. Just call it a desperate plea for Joe Simpson's attention.
