TINSELTOWN SPYWITNESS.

Byline: Elizabeth Snead and Joel Stratte-McClure

LAST RITES: Why did the ``Six Feet Under'' premiere resemble a wake? Because it's the award-winning HBO Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBO)

``It's time It's Time was a successful political campaign run by the Australian Labor Party (ALP) under Gough Whitlam at the 1972 election in Australia. Campaigning on the perceived need for change after 23 years of conservative (Liberal Party of Australia) government, Labor put forward a  for the 'Twilight Zone' of the 21st century to die,'' lamented guest star Joanna Cassidy. ``And it's a sad moment for us all.''

Hall Michael Carlisle Hall (born February 1 1971) is a Golden Globe and Emmy Award-nominated American actor, best known for his roles as David Fisher in the HBO drama series Six Feet Under and the title character of the Showtime series Dexter. , Peter Krause, Freddy Rodriguez, Mathew St. Patrick Mathew St. Patrick (born March 17, 1968) is an American actor. He has starred in the television soap opera All My Children (1998-2000), starred (2001-2005) as Keith Charles on HBO drama Six Feet Under, was the first voice of Skulker (2004) on , Jeremy Sisto and a pregnant Rachel Griffiths.

Not surprisingly, the table talk was about after-death plans and the program's finale.

``Just pickle me and put me out on display when I die,'' said Rodriguez, who plays hands-on embalmer em·balm

me,'' retorted Hall, who plays mortician David Fisher, sitting next to his real-life wife, Amy Spanger. ``I'd like to be buried in simple, biodegradable muslin muslin, general name for plain woven fine white cottons for domestic use. It is believed that muslins were first made at Mosul (now a city of Iraq). They were widely made in India, from where they were first imported to England in the late 17th cent.  and become food for the earthworms.''

``We're so saturated with the topic of death that I've come to realize there's not a lot I can do about it,'' agreed Krause, who plays mortician Nate Fisher.

``I'm absolutely fascinated by what goes on in mortuaries,'' added Cromwell, whose character gets shock treatments in the first episode this season. ``But I'm happy I've decided to be cremated.''

St. Patrick added, ``My biggest fear has always been being buried alive. Now I can't even fathom the idea of lying in a box when I'm dead.''

Not everyone wanted to play the after-death-experience parlor game.

``It's morbid to think about what would happen with my own remains,'' said Conroy, who plays Ruth Fisher. ``This is an acting job, not a psychotherapy session.''

The last season premieres at 9 p.m. June 6. The 12-episode season ends Aug. 22. So, how will it end? Will the finale be satisfying, shocking or surprising? ``Yes,'' said Krause, with a smile.

Thanks, Peter. You really know how to comfort the grieving.

REDECORATED HOLMES: Katie Holmes was accompanied to Oprah Winfrey's White Tie Ball by three of the biggest names in Hollywood. She showed up at Winfrey's Montecito estate last weekend on the arm of Tom Cruise, her new leading man. Katie was clad in Giorgio Armani couture and wore Harry Winston's five-line diamond earrings. Wow. Can you say Moving On Up?
