The Los Angeles Newspaper Group is a division of Dean Singleton's MediaNews Group Not to be confused with Media General, an unrelated newspaper and TV group.

Brisco, the Times' senior vice president of advertising and marketing, and new business development. ``Working with Dean Singleton on this strategic marketing alliance is a win for advertisers. It creates a more efficient way of reaching target numbers of newspaper subscribers, which our advertisers want.''

``Our papers in Los Angeles are excited about working with the Times to offer advertisers a more effective and efficient pre-print program,'' said Singleton. ``LANG's recent acquisitions in the market, coupled with the Times' broad coverage of the market, make the timing perfect for this joint effort.''

The Los Angeles Newspaper Group publishes the Daily News, the Long Beach Press Telegram, the San Gabriel Valley The San Gabriel Valley is one of the principal valleys of southern California. Advertisers will be able to buy pre-printed inserts in the Los Angeles Times and the Wednesday editions of the Los Angeles Newspaper Group's newspapers. For those households not subscribing to either the Times or a Los Angeles Newspaper Group paper, the inserts will be delivered via mail on Tuesday or Wednesday.

The Times' and the Los Angeles Newspaper Group's combined weekday circulation is 1,517,592. The weekday Los Angeles Times' circulation is 1,095,007 and LANG's weekday circulation is 422,585, for the six-month period ending March 31.

Also, Times Mirror, publisher of the Times, confirmed that it has made a financial investment in Garden State Newspapers, which owns the Los Angeles Newspaper Group, in order to strengthen the relationship between the two companies, which may identify other opportunities to work together in the future.

Garden State Newspapers, headquartered in Denver, is an affiliate of MediaNews Group, which publishes 36 daily and 96 nondaily newspapers in 12 states. MediaNews Group is the nation's seventh-largest newspaper company.
