TIME WARNER TELECOM DELIVERS VOICE/DATA NETWORK SOLUTIONS.

Time Warner Telecom Inc. (NASDAQ:TWTC), a leading provider of managed voice and data networking solutions for businesses, has announced the successful installation of Native LAN metro Ethernet service and voice services for The Presbyterian Homes, a High Point, North Carolina-based provider of retirement communities.

Time Warner Telecom initially won a competitive bid contract to supply Native LAN to expand Presbyterian Homes' capability for data applications. Based on Time Warner Telecom's ability to quickly and cost-effectively deliver this solution to Presbyterian Homes, it was awarded an additional contract to provide local voice solutions. As a result, Time Warner Telecom now provides the company with metro Ethernet as well as local and long distance voice services. Presbyterian Homes is the latest customer to benefit from the high capacity network for voice and data services that Time Warner Telecom extended into High Point.

Time Warner Telecom installed fiber to three of Presbyterian Homes Retirement Community locations providing a native LAN Ethernet solution that replaced their legacy Frame Relay network. This type of network provides business class redundancy and protection for critical voice and data services at these facilities. With this solution, Presbyterian Homes' network bandwidth increased 20 times at three locations and doubled bandwidth at two additional locations. As a result, Presbyterian Homes can now easily support its state of the art technology infrastructure supporting Cisco's converged networks utilizing IP Telephony, Video over IP, wireless and Cisco Emergency Responder Systems. The network infrastructure provides centralized management using a high performance connection while simultaneously reducing costs.

"In addition to its competitive pricing and strong presence in the High Point market, what I immediately noticed about Time Warner Telecom was its reliance on proven technologies, such as the racks of Cisco equipment at their central office," said Lisa Pannell, director of Information Systems for The Presbyterian Homes. "The fact that Time Warner Telecom brings world-class partners to the table, made my decision an easy one. After being in the industry for 23 years, I know that a strong foundation and reliable communications are key to having a dependable network. Being that we are a Healthcare provider, we rely on state of the art technologies to pave the way for our future, and Time Warner Telecom fit the bill."

"More and more companies are realizing the benefits of Metro Ethernet, which include low latency, redundancy, flexibility, lower cost and higher capacity," said Travis Noble, General Manager for Time Warner Telecom in Greensboro. "Presbyterian Homes is an example of how companies in the region can leverage the latest networking technologies for the good of their employees and customers."
