While a warm winter followed by a spring snow decimated Leona Valley cherries two years ago, and last year's crop was good but not a bumper one, growers are hoping that this June will bring cherries worth bragging about.

``The blooms are just loaded,'' said John Mayfield, a cherry rancher for more than 15 years. ``They're at their peak.''

``We had more people than we had cherries,'' Mayfield said.
