 TIME INC. MAGAZINES-ASIA ANNOUNCES NEW APPOINTMENTS
 NEW YORK, July 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Time Inc. Magazines-Asia has named


three of its executives to new assignments. The announcement was made today, by Robert L. Miller, president of Time Publishing Ventures (TPV). TPV includes all of Time Inc.'s regional and special interest magazine businesses and its worldwide development activity.
 In making the announcement, Miller said, "It has become increasingly obvious that realigning our management resources is the best way to pursue Time Inc.'s tremendous growth opportunities in the Asian Region."
 Robin Johnson has been named president, Time Inc. Magazines-Asia. He has previously been the managing director of TIME Magazine-Asia, the publisher of The Atlantic Monthly, and a vice president at U.S. News & World Report. Prior to this, he worked for Time Inc. in a variety of strategy and development
roles. "Robin's talent, his record at Time and his commitment to the region make him the logical choice," Miller said.
 Robert Klavercamp will assume the new position of group publisher, Time Inc. Magazines-Asia. Klavercamp, who will report to Johnson, will have the responsibility for managing all of the magazine company's advertising business in Southeast Asia. Klavercamp has directed the advertising sales of Asiaweek and Yazhou Zhoukan as president and CEO, and before that was group publisher since 1981. He previously served as advertising director of Reader's Digest in the Asia/Pacific region.
 According to Miller, "Though the overwhelming majority of our selling efforts will continue to be on a magazine by magazine basis, this structure will enable us to better leverage our collective strength when appropriate."
 Don Brown will become managing director, TIME-North Asia. In this newly created position, Brown will assume reporting responsibility for all pieces of TIME's business in Japan, Korea and Taiwan including circulation, production, fulfillment, administration and advertising for these North Asian markets. Brown will continue to report to Johnson and will relocate to Tokyo.
 Prior to taking on his responsibilities as Asia publishing director for TIME in 1987, Brown was based in New York where he held a number of sales and management positions including associate international advertising director-TIME Magazine, New York sales director-TIME Magazine, and production director-People Magazine.
 Miller said, "This new configuration positions us to achieve even greater growth in revenues, quality of service and profitability in the years ahead."
