She has served as CEO of two nonprofit 501 (c)(6) and two nonprofit 501 (c) (3) organizations, including the Michigan Music Conference since 2006. Kirkpatrick served on the board of directors of her state professional society, the Michigan Society of Association Executives, for six years and currently serves on the boards of the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan Foundation and the Detroit Executive Service Corps.
