THRILL-SEEKERS STRAP IN FOR RATTLE AND ROLL.

Byline: Gema Duarte Staff Writer

Using both arms and just his left foot, 33-year-old Humberto Fregoso Jr. managed to make it to the top of The Rock, one of the many attractions at the 78th annual Los Angeles County Fair The Los Angeles County Fair (also called simply the L.A. County Fair) is an annual event held in the Fairplex in Pomona, California, held every September. It is a carnival with rides, merchants, food vendors, cooking contests, and livestock. The 2007 L.A. .

Sweat coming down his forehead mixed with laughter as he said, ``It was fun and exciting. I was not tired, I have been lifting weights just to try this here at the fair.''

Ray Cammack Show Inc. opened the fair with more than 70 rides plus a bonus of two new kid rides, Construction Zone and Kite Flyer.

``I like the trucks because they are big and strong,'' said Jordan Gordon, 5, of Long Beach, high-fiving his buddy after riding Construction Zone.

Construction Zone consists of a variety of construction trucks where children get to live out their imaginary workday around a mouse holding two flags with bright lights flashing.

Safety is always a parents' concern when it comes to their children hopping onto rides. Especially like the ride Evolution, which features a 15- second upside-down suspension that rushes blood to the head. All in all, it's highly recommended not to eat before riding.

``All rides are fun as long as you ride them safe and do what the operators tell you to,'' an Orbiter Lite operator said.

It has two rims that are parallel to and equidistant from the shaft about which the wheel rotates.  anchors the midway, offering a great overview of the fair grounds. Riding the 110-foot wheel gives patrons a peek at the horse racing horse racing, trials of speed involving two or more horses. It includes races among harnessed horses with one of two particular gaits, among saddled Thoroughbreds (or, less frequently, quarterhorses) on a flat track, or among saddled horses over a turf course with  track, other rides and activities, and the whole L.A. County Fair, which resembles a small city.

The Looping Star roller coaster doesn't match Magic Mountain's Revolution, but riders still get to experience a 360-degree loop.

Fidel Hernandez, 22, of Torrance said the Zipper zipper

is one of the greater traditional rides at the fair.

``I'm not one for fair rides, but I'll have to admit this one ride was beyond my expectations because it's a traditional fair ride,'' he said.

For small children like Sara Witherspoon, 4, of Ontario, her thrill was getting on the Kitty Land Slide by herself.

Heat has taken its toll on early fairgoers, but the fair features three water rides for all ages. Hydro-Slide is the main water attraction and resembles Magic Mountain's Tidal Wave tidal wave, term properly applied to the crest of a tide as it moves around the earth. The wavelike upstream rush of water caused by the incoming tide in some locations is known as a tidal bore. , with a pair of drops that helps cool people off.

Ride ticket prices are $15 for a 10-ride wristband wristband An identifying bracelet attached to a Pt's wrist at the time of admission to a health care facility, which may be the only identifier used during a person's stay in a hospital , single tickets are 75 cents, sheets of 18 are $10 and a sheet of 40 is $20. Most rides require five tickets.

The rides are varied enough to offer something for every thrill-seeker.
