THOUGHT for the WEEK.

Byline: Andrew Cook

AT THIS time of the year, many churches and chapels have colourful displays of fruit, flowers, vegetables and produce of all kinds. It is the time of Harvest Festival - a joyful thanksgiving to God the Creator. The harvest results because seeds have grown into plants of the same kind. The same principle applies to our spiritual sowing and harvest.

Galatians 6 both warns and guides us: "Do not deceive yourselves' no-one can make a fool of God. A person will reap exactly what he sows. If he sows in the field of his natural desires, from it he will gather the harvest of death' if he sows in the field of the Spirit, from the Spirit he will gather the harvest of eternal life."
