They've put their loss to Lone Pine in the past but they do want revenge.

Today, the two teams gather for the rematch REMATCH Cardiology Clinical trials–Randomized Evaluation of Mechanical Assistance Therapy as an alternative in Congestive Heart failure–related to use of a portable, electric left ventricular-assist system–LVAS–eg, HeartMate®  the Knights (8-3, 4-1) have been waiting for. The game begins at 5 p.m. in Lone Pine.

Undefeated Lone Pine is in first place in the Desert Mountain League. ``(Lone Pine) is well-organized, well-coached and have the home-court advantage,'' said Desert Christian coach Rosa Thomas. ``They have a good crowd turnout that can intimidate in·tim·i·date

The Knights, who carry two seniors and six underclassmen, will feature Sara Jackson, Valerie Pacheco, Dolly Wilson and Melinda Postumus.

Volleyball: Highland is on pace to crown itself as the Golden League champion - again. First, though, the Bulldogs (12-3, 6-0) must get past the other two strong teams in the league, Quartz Hill and Lancaster.

Highland, which beat Lancaster in three games in the first round of league play, travels to Lancaster on Thursday for a 6 p.m. match.

``We went over to watch (Lancaster) play Quartz Hill (last week),'' said Highland coach Tom Jones, who is not worried by Lancaster's home-court advantage. ``They had about 100 people in the stands and it was very quiet. (Lancaster coach Bruce Rucker) wishes he can have the kind of support we have here at Highland.''

Rucker agrees with that: ``The hardest thing is that there is a certain mystique mys·tique

``(Hernandez) was off the last couple of matches, but she's back at the level where she's always been. I don't think she's going into another slump,'' Rucker said. ``She's been focusing a lot during practice and (on) the quality of them.''

Tennis: Quartz Hill, which finished last season with an 18-2 overall record and went undefeated at 10-0 in the Golden League, is on pace to equal last year's numbers. The Rebels are 12-2, 6-0 so far and put their record on the line this week as they travel to Antelope Valley today and host Palmdale on Thursday, both at 3 p.m. Quartz Hill beat those two teams in the first round of league play.

Quartz Hill's No. 1 and No. 2 singles players, Patti Young and Lannette Richardson, are leading the Rebels with the help of their No. 1 doubles team of Nisha Shah and Shannon Murray.
