THIOKOL ACQUIRES DEUTSCH FASTENER CORP.
OGDEN, Utah, Jan. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Thiokol Corp. (NYSE: TKC) announced today that its subsidiary, Huck International Inc., of Irvine, Calif., has acquired certain assets of Deutsch Fastener Corp. of Lakewood, Calif. Deutsch Fastener, with annual sales of approximately $15 million, produces a broad line of high-performance fasteners for the commercial aircraft market, including threaded bolts, high-strength bolts, lock nuts and captive screws, markets not currently served by Huck. "The addition of Deutsch Fastener will strengthen Huck's position in the aerospace fastener market, and continues our strategy of reinvesting portions of our strong cash flow in the higher growth fastener area," said Thiokol President and Chief Executive Officer James R. Wilson. "Deutsch has a long history of producing quality fasteners and its product line is a complement to Huck." Thiokol Corp. is a major producer of solid propulsion systems, ordnance, and composite products for the space and defense industries, and high-technology, proprietary fastening systems for aerospace and industrial applications. -0- 1/6/94 /CONTACT: Steve Lawson of Thiokol, 801-629-2257/ (TKC)
