She is best known for her role as Melanie Daniels in Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds  (``Marnie''), director Sidney Lumet (``The Offence''), Blair Underwood (``Just Cause'') and Harrison Ford (``Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade'').

Hedren said she expressed her astonishment to Alfred Hitchcock when she learned she would have to play Marnie opposite Connery. ``Marnie's supposed to be frigid frig·id
