shot and two others wounded in a Magic Mountain parking lot were all innocent bystanders caught in the middle of apparent gang gunfire, sheriff's investigators determined Thursday.

``Some black suspects got into an altercation with a group of male Hispanics and the shooter produced a handgun and started firing at all of them and struck innocent bystanders,'' Sgt.  and a dark-colored Buick Regal, Callier said.

Sheriff's officials said witnesses saw the two groups flash gang signs before the gunfire rang out.

Authorities identified the slain 15-year-old as Danny Vega Vega (vā`gə), brightest star in the constellation Lyra; Bayer designation Alpha Lyrae; 1992 position R.A. 18h36.7m, Dec. +38°47'. A white main-sequence star of spectral class A0 V, its apparent magnitude is 0. .

Also wounded was Grace Arredondo, 37, of Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  and a 14-year-old boy whose name was withheld because he is a juvenile, Callier said.

Both wounded victims were listed in good condition at Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital on Thursday evening.

Authorities said the suspects opened fire from a car. The bullets killed Vega and wounded the 14-year-old in the foot and Arredondo in the hand.

Investigators said they have only vague descriptions of the three suspects.

On Thursday, while homicide homicide (hŏm`əsīd), in law, the taking of human life. Homicides that are neither justifiable nor excusable are considered crimes. A criminal homicide committed with malice is known as murder, otherwise it is called manslaughter.  detectives from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department searched for suspects and questioned witnesses in the shooting, park security guards - in groups of three and four - scoped out waves of spring break students and vacationers who descended on the park despite the shooting.

``They definitely added more security today and I expect it to stay this way because of what's happened in the past,'' said a guard who requested anonymity.

The guard said the park is known for adding extra security following violence there and then reducing staff after fears have been calmed.

Rabjohn denied extra security had been added.

``We already have a comprehensive and aggressive security force, which people know about,'' Rabjohn said.

Callier said Vega's slaying was the result of a fight in the parking lot more than a half-hour after park closing at 8 p.m.

Deputies said Vega visited the park Wednesday with a group of people, but are unsure whether they were friends or family. Magic Mountain officials said the suspects were not park visitors and said also that the 8:30 p.m. shooting was unrelated to anything that happened there that day.

``This was an isolated, seamless incident, a drive-by in our parking lot,'' said Rabjohn.

Two witnesses who called the Daily News on Wednesday night said the altercation started as a fistfight between two park guests as visitors waited to board trams to cars parked far from the front gate.

Sara Alexander, a writer from Sherman Oaks, said she had taken her two sons to Magic Mountain and they were leaving the park when the fight started.

The other youth and his friends pursued the group into the parking lot. Shortly after, Alexander said that she heard five gunshots and later saw the shooting occur about seven cars away from where she was parked.
