Santa Clarita theatergoers will recognize these award-winning actresses from their previously loved performances. Hause displayed her comic chops in the Rep's production of Neil Simon's ``Rumors,'' as well as her serious side as the invalid wife in ``Deathtrap death·trap n. 1. McLaughlin most recently rocked the house with her raucous portrayal of the tree in ``The Butterfingers but·ter·fin·gers pl.n. Hause and McLaughlin together are a powerhouse of talent that promises to keep audiences rolling in the aisles. It goes without saying the play is a takeoff on Simon's original ``Odd Couple,'' which after receiving acclaim on Broadway was made into a movie starring Walter Matthau and Jack Lemmon Noun 1. Jack Lemmon - United States film actor (1925-2001) John Uhler, Lemmon . A TV version followed, starring Jack Klugman as Oscar and Tony Randall as Felix. In the mid-1980s Simon decided to rewrite the comedy, replacing Oscar with Olive and Felix with Florence. Veteran actor and director Barbara Huntington will direct the Rep's adaptation. This is Huntington's debut with the Rep after years at the neighboring The Canyon Theatre Guild. The cast includes Julia Self, Jennifer Buttell, Noel Evangalisti, Leann Donovan, Michael Altobello and Barrett Davidson. Award-winning set designer Brian Maly will create the set and local Elise Moore is stage manager. ``We're thrilled to have Barbara Huntington directing, and the cast is phenomenal. We wanted to start the season with a comedy,'' said Craig Duswalt, the Rep's artistic director. The show will opens today with performances at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays through March 30. Ticket prices are $15 for adults, $12.50 for seniors and $10 for students and children. The Rep accepts major credit cards, and discounts are available for large groups.
