THEATER/SNEAK PEEK : VAN NUYS WRITER BEWITCHED BY MANY `FACES' OF LOVE.Writer Sol Saks of Van Nuys is probably best-known as the creator of the beloved 1960s sitcom ``Bewitched be·witch tr.v. be·witched, be·witch·ing, be·witch·es 1. To place under one's power by or as if by magic; cast a spell over. 2. To captivate completely; entrance. See Synonyms at charm. .'' But his magic touch with comedy actually spans decades, right up to the present. An author of short stories, Saks got his start in entertainment in radio, writing for such shows as ``Duffy's Tavern.'' He also has written feature films (Cary Grant's ``Walk, Don't Run'') and created a number of TV shows besides ``Bewitched,'' including the 1950s Ida Lupino-Howard Duff sitcom ``Mr. Adams and Eve.'' But it's the Elizabeth Montgomery sitcom that sticks in most folks' minds. And that's fine with Saks. ``It's far from the best thing I've done,'' he says. ``If I was to list my accomplishments, it would come in at No. 10, if that high. But it was a well-done piece. I'm not ashamed of it or embarrassed.''
