New York--Following extensive renovations of its studios at 62 East Fourth Street, the Rod Rodgers Dance Company has opened a new dance training program with classes in jazz, Afro-Caribbean, Haitian, African, tap and modern dance, body conditioning and basic ballet for recreational dancers. Kim Grier, director of dance programs at Harlem School of the Arts School of the Arts is the name of several schools (usually high schools) that are devoted to the fine arts, including:
  • Brooklyn High School of the Arts, Brooklyn, New York
  • Charleston County School of the Arts, Charleston, South Carolina
 and a well-known master teacher, will join the staff.

Children's dance instructor Ellen Robbins, who has been lauded for her annual children's choreography program at Dance Theater Workshop Dance Theater Workshop is a New York City performance space and service organization for dance companies. Located on West 19th Street in the Chelsea section of Manhattan, DTW was founded in 1965 by Jeff Duncan, Art Bauman and Jack Moore as a choreographers' collective. , will begin year-round classes for young people in the fall.

The Lower East Side school continues as a home for Rod Rodgers Dance Company and will also make space available for workshops and rentals.

New York--Broadway Dance Center and Internexus Center for Language have collaborated on a new course: "English + Dance."

International students requiring an F1 visa can now take dance and English language from Broadway Dance Center. BDC (Backup Domain Controller) In a Windows NT server, a copy of the Primary Domain Controller (PDC). The BDC is periodically synchronized with the PDC. See PDC.

 is partnering with Internexus, an international center for language studies. Foreign students may attend English lessons every morning (six hours per week) and study dance in the afternoons (twelve hours per week). Students in the program may study for a minimum of one month.

The programs, which begin at the start of each month, cost $1,200 per month; accommodations and insurance cost extra. Advisors will help students choose from the fifty classes offered each day. Colorado--Vail's 2000 International Dance Teachers Conference: The Practice and Theory of Teaching Ballet runs August 8-12 high in the Rocky Mountains. Directed by Lynn Wallis from the London office of the Royal Academy of Dancing, the conference is devoted to enhancing teaching and coaching techniques and developing an overall understanding of ballet. As a bonus on August 11-12, the Paul Mitchell International Evenings of Dance series will demonstrate the results of superior teaching with pas de deux pas de deux

 educational reform. Continuation of this educational project has been ensured by a $150,000 grant from the GE Fund. In 1994, Creative Connections, a Kentucky Center for the Arts education program, began tailoring arts programs and curricula to specific needs of teachers and students in Jefferson County; the program has since grown to include four additional schools.

The new grant will permit the inclusion of six more schools and greater opportunities for arts education. The grant will also be used to launch multicultural performances at Kentucky Center for the Arts to celebrate the artistry of Louisville's increasingly diverse populations.

Massachusetts--Jacob's Pillow has completed its $12.5 million Millennium Campaign and has met the Kresge Foundation's challenge grant. Proceeds from the five-year fundraiser have been earmarked "to make urgent repairs to the historical dance site"; strengthen its educational and artistic programs, and establish a modest cash reserve.
