countries have made in achieving the goals set forth by the 1990 World
Summit for Children. Essays, photos, and statistical arrays chart the

care, immunization immunization: see immunity; vaccination. , and protecting children from exploitation and
neglect.
The results are encouraging when nations invest in children's well-being and protect their rights. Much still needs to be done, however, and this publication portrays the effects of poverty, gender discrimination, debt, wars, and inadequate commitment to or unequal social progress towards the realization of the rights and potentials of all children.
