THE PRINCIPAL SECRET TOPS $2.25 MILLION IN FOUR HOURS ON QVC

 PALM DESERT, Calif., Sept. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Sales of Victoria Principal's Principal Secret lines of skin and hair care products exceeded $2.25 million in just four hours of programming on QVC, according to Greg Renker, president of Guthy-Renker Corp., producer of Ms. Principal's hit infomercial. The launch of the new hair care products was extremely well received by QVC viewers, and more than 7,500 units were sold at $49 each. Ms. Principal's QVC appearances on Aug. 20, 21 and 22 marked her second anniversary with the televised shopping channel.
 "The Principal Secret is a first-class line that has consistently performed well for QVC," said Doug Briggs, QVC's executive vice president - electronic retailing. "Victoria is very much in tune with our customers, and her new hair care line was an instant hit. Viewer response proves that."
 Infomercials on behalf of Ms. Principal's skin care line have been on the air for the past two years. A new version of the best-selling series, produced by Guthy-Renker, is scheduled to be shot in September.
 QVC, the nation's largest shopping channel, is transmitted live, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It currently reaches more than 44 million homes via cable, and 3 million homes with satellite dishes from coast to coast.
