ANNOUNCE MARKETING SERVICES AGREEMENT
NEW YORK, Feb. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- The New Otani Co., Ltd. and Marriott Corporation (NYSE: MHS) announced today that they have signed a marketing agreement effective April 1, 1992. The pact covers worldwide reservations services for two New Otani hotels, participation in Marriott's Honored Guest Awards program, reciprocal listing in the annual directories of both companies and other joint marketing, sales and promotional activities including group marketing and participation in trade shows and customer events.
The hotels covered by the agreement are Hotel New Otani Tokyo and Hotel New Otani Hakata, both of which are in Japan; and the New York Marriott Marquis and Boston Copley Place Hotel in the U.S., and the J. W. Marriott Hong Kong Hotel.
According to J. W. Under terms of the pact, Marriott will provide worldwide reservations services for the two designated New Otani hotels. In addition, members of Marriott's widely renowned Honored Guest Awards Program (HGA) will earn 1,000 points per room night spent at the two New Otani hotels. They will also earn points in the frequent flyer programs of Northwest and American airlines when they travel on these airlines and stay at these New Otani hotels as part of their trip to Japan. The Marriott Honored Guest Program, with more 4 million members, is recognized as the richest and most effective loyalty program in the lodging industry.
Among the guest service benefits Marriott will extend to New Otani club members staying at the designated Marriott hotels are those enjoyed by Marriott's Marquis Club members. These include access to a special reservations number, automatic corporate rate, spouse stays free, nightly turndown service, complimentary daily newspaper delivered to the room and 10 percent discount in Marriott owned and operated gift shops.
The two companies have also initiated an employee exchange program to foster further cooperation and understanding.
The Marriott hotels included in this agreement are part of the upscale, full service Marriott Hotels, Resorts & Suites division of Marriott Corporation. There are over 230 full service Marriott hotels in 17 countries around the world.
