Byline: Glenn Whipp Daily News film Writer

The signs of the season are everywhere - the decorations in the mall, the Muzak carols playing in the supermarket, the shopping list your kid has made, checked twice and conveniently categorized by priority and price.

Or maybe you'd like to get biblical with ``Prince of Egypt'' or hysterical with Robin Williams in ``Patch Adams.'' If all else fails, there's the sure-fire reunion of Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan in the romantic comedy ``You've Got Mail The audio announcement heard millions of times per day by AOL users. The voice was recorded by Elwood "El" Edwards in 1989 at the suggestion of his wife Karen, who worked in customer service for Quantum Computer Services (before Quantum became AOL). .''

Movies aren't the only diversions, of course. Charles Durning and Julie Harris will be reprising their critically lauded roles in ``The Gin Game'' at the Wilshire Theatre. This new production of D.L. Coburn's 1977 two-character play, which won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama
