 JAMES TUNG VP, STRATEGIC BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
 NATICK, Mass., Sept. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- The MathWorks, Inc. today announced the appointment of two members of its senior management team - Steven Lipsey to vice president of sales and marketing, and James Tung to vice president of strategic business development.
 Previously, the MathWorks' vice president of sales, Lipsey has more than two decades of domestic and international experience in the computer field. He established BBN Software at Bolt Beranek & Newman and has served on the boards of directors of companies in the fields of scientific software and Computer-Aided Software Engineering (CASE). Lipsey holds a bachelor's degree in computer science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and a master's degree from MIT's Sloan School of Management.
 Tung has worked at The MathWorks for four years, most recently as vice president of marketing, and has more than 10 years of experience in the engineering and scientific software markets.
 Previously, Tung was product marketing manager at Lotus Development Corp., where he managed spreadsheet add-in products for engineering and scientific applications. He also has held marketing and sales positions at Keithley DAC and Data Acquisition Systems. Tung received his bachelor's degree from Harvard University.
 The MathWorks, Inc. based in Natick, Mass., develops, markets and supports high-performance software for interactive numeric computation, visualization and dynamic system simulation. The Mathworks' products are used worldwide by more than 100,000 users at leading commercial and government research laboratories and organizations, including Boeing, General Motors, Eastman Kodak, General Electric, E.I. DuPont and Motorola as well as at hundreds of educational institutions.
