THE HYPE THE CAT'S MEOW OR THE DOGGED DETERMINATION? OUR READERS WEIGH IN WITH A LICK AND A PROMISE.

When the movie ``Cats & Dogs'' hit theaters, our movie critics were divided. Glenn Whipp steadfastly sided with canines, while Bob Strauss defended felines. So, we asked you, our readers, to weigh in. And now one thing is certain: In the battle between cats and dogs Cats and Dogs

A slang term referring to speculative stocks that have short or suspicious histories for sales, earnings, dividends, etc.

Notes:
In a bull market analysts will often mention that everything is going up, even the cats and dogs.
, humans are on one side or the other - but not both.

CATS

Cats rule (with the exception of the unseemly presents delivered to the front door, of course) with their aloof yet engagingly quaint ways, and the purry appreciation they show in response to an affectionate pat.

- Maris Bellamy, Northridge

You always know when cats are glad,

and surely know when they are mad.

They are the rulers and the kings,

seemingly caring about nothing.

From kitten to cat, you know the stat.

The ball, the yarn and the tiny rat.

They give us more than we know.

The love they show.

- Carol Lee, Sherman Oaks

My cat, Butter, stayed alive long enough to sleep on my pillow after I had surgery. She made sure I was alright. Her love blessed me!

There is one reason I can think of as to why people hate cats and would prefer dogs.

Most people, like dogs, are co-dependent. Dogs do not make their owners work hard to earn their affection - they are social animals that freely give away their love and affection to anyone who pats them on the head.

Cats, on the other hand, aren't so trusting and will take the necessary time to decide if you've earned their love and affection. Quite simply, they are very independent, as opposed to being co-dependent.

- Sophia Sherman, Encino

DOGS

Here are my reasons why dogs rule: Love for their families. Gentleness. Caring. Running to the door, welcoming their loved ones loved ones nplseres mpl queridos

CAT: unreliable, defiant, stuck-up, self-centered, ungrateful, unpredictable

DOG: reliable, forgiving, grateful, shares interests, receptive, compliant

Which traits would you prefer to live with?

STAR SIGHTING

WATCHING A SCRIMMAGE: In Woodland Hills Saturday to catch a pickup game between a spinosaurus and a T. rex T. rex, T. Rex or T-Rex may refer to:

  • Tachyoryctes rex, the King Mole Rat
  • Thoristella rex, a species of Thoristella

The 7-foot-2 theater patron towered over other filmgoers coming in, but the stadium-style seating at the AMC (Advanced Mezzanine Card) See AdvancedTCA.  Promenade 16 made sure his commanding presence - specifically, his head - did not distract those behind him.

The spinosaurus won, by the way. So did the movie, ``Jurassic Park III,'' which raked in an estimated $80.9 million from last Wednesday through Sunday.

MUGGER'S DAY: Now, that's a good dog!

Murphy the Mugger mugger: see crocodile. , an 87-pound rottweiler Rottweiler (rŏt`wīlər), breed of sturdy working dog developed from a Roman cattle dog introduced into S Germany more than 1,900 years ago. So it was no surprise to her that the 6-year-old pet would make the family proud at the American Kennel Club's National Obedience Invitational in Chicago last month.

Murphy was proclaimed the winner of the Working Group, one of the seven AKC AKC - Ascending Kleene Chain  breed groups that focuses on obedience exercises, at the two-day event.

Walberg and her dog, whose pedigree papers list him as Obedience Trial Champion Obstgarten Murphy the Mugger Utility Dog Excellence, had already won two national titles and been named the No. 1 rottweiler in the country in obedience training obedience training

Just like any champ, Murphy was presented with a gold medallion on a ribbon. Instead of roses, he received about 40 pounds of Iams Eukanuba dog food, which should last him about six months, says his owner, who is a member of the Valley Hills Obedience Club.
