Old Navy - the cool store for the young and hip human being - has finally launched its Dog Supply line. And not a tail wag too soon.

After all, Magic, the Airdale terrier mix who was rescued as a stray and now stars in the company's commercials, has watched fashion come and go since 1995 without so much as a whimper. There've been styles for miles, but nothing for the perky pooch except for an occasional holiday bowl or leash - until now.

Now Old Navy shoppers who also are dog lovers can match their pet's attire to their own. When ``mom'' dons a pair of floral capris, ``Princess'' gets a floral leash and collar to match. Now doesn't this sound better than combing your local pet store for something that will go with your sun dress for that special walk in the park?

``The line is a natural extension of our brand,'' said Alexandra Cohan, spokeswoman for Old Navy. ``Our brand features fashion, value and fun.''

And what about the new line for dogs?

``Dogs are like accessories,'' Cohen said.

Disagree? Take a good look around and you'll see that stylish people want stylish pets - and that means more than just good grooming. To be really ``in,'' your canine needs accessories that complement you.

The current collection includes leash and collar sets (from $7), bandannas ($4) and portable water bowls ($7). Find them this spring in bright colors and prints, including gingham, plaid and floral. There are also colorful toys: flying discs ($3), rubber bones ($2), rope toys ($5) and tennis balls ($5 for three) in bright solids and doggie daybeds (medium $16, large $20) in hot hues and mod motifs.

Through March 17, anyone buying an item from the dog supply line will get a free Box O' Biscuits - or at least while supplies last. Ten boxes have a $1,000 gold-wrapped ``Money Biscuit'' inside.

Now those of you who are dying to have a dog so you can buy it all kinds of cool Old Navy gear, March is pet adoption month. For every dog adopted in the Los Angeles area this month, Old Navy will donate $10 to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and present the new ``parents'' with a ``Welcome Waggin' '' kit with supplies from its collection.

HOT KOFFEE: Urban-music fans are adding the new male/female duo Koffee Brown to their music menu.

The smooth-as-honey vocal act, comprising singer-songwriters Fonz and Vee, sees the release today of its hotly tipped debut, ``Mars/Venus'' (referring to the best seller, ``Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus'').

As usual, Arista Records did a creamy job setting up the album. A single, ``After Party,'' has been a Top 15 hit on the r&b/hip-hop charts for several weeks and is now gaining momentum on the pop list.

Koffee Brown's instantly accessible sound recalls the classic soul duos of the '60s mixed with the caffeinated swagger of today's hip-hop.

Former Arista chief Clive Davis had the idea to put Fonz and Vee together after they auditioned separately for him.

Vee, a New Jersey native who previously worked as backup singer for Mary J. Blige and Faith Evans, was performing with another male artist while Missouri-bred Fonz was a solo act.

The chemistry was apparently immediate and the original plan to fill the album with wall-to-wall love ballads was jettisoned in favor of ``getting into the nitty-gritty of relationships,'' Vee told Billboard.

REALLY BIG SHOW: Saturday's the day tickets go on sale for the Dave Matthews Band show May 22 at Dodger Stadium.

By the time you read this, Matthews' latest album, ``Everyday,'' is probably either topping the charts or well on its way. A new single, ``I Did It,'' is a hot commodity on radio.
