To some, it's New Year's Eve. To others, it's Amateur Night on the freeways. For those who choose to mark the passage of another year from the relative safety of their own couches, there's a lot to choose from on television.

< NOW WE'VE SEEN EVERYTHING ... ALMOST: On ``CBS News Sunday Morning'' this weekend, correspondent Bill Geist (that's him on the right, without the magazine) will present a segment wrapping up the year 2000, noting the wacky events that made the past 12 months so much fun.

Part of that segment will be the naming of Geist's ``Man of the Year'': Richard Hatch, the shy, retiring winner of the network's reality-based endurance event ``Survivor.'' Hatch's fashion accessory is, appropriately enough, the Playboy issue featuring nude pictures of another ordinary person caught in the crushing grip of a reality-based TV show: Darva Conger of Fox's ``Who Wants to Marry a Multi-Millionaire?''
