THE GREENBRIER WELCOMES SAM SNEAD BACK WITH MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND GOLF TOURNAMENT AND PACKAGE

 WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va., April 28 /PRNewswire/ -- The Greenbrier is celebrating Sam Snead's return to the resort he served for nearly four decades with a "Play It Again Sam" Memorial Day Golf Tournament Package sure to delight fans of the legendary golfer.
 Friday, May 28, through Monday, May 31, the Mobil 5-Star, AAA 5-Diamond resort will host a variety of events in honor of Snead, who recently re-joined The Greenbrier to serve as golf professional emeritus. He originally joined The Greenbrier in 1936 at age 23 to serve in his first professional position as The Greenbrier's golf professional, a job he held for 38 years.
 The "Play It Again Sam" Weekend Golf Package at The Greenbrier begins Friday evening with a welcome reception with Snead. Saturday activities start with a morning golf exhibition by Snead, and continue with a practice round for golfers and other programs for non-golfers. Saturday evening features a Kate's Mountain reception and dinner party. Sunday's "Play It Again Sam" Golf Tournament will be held on The Greenbrier course and concludes with a picnic and awards ceremony.
 In conjunction with Snead's return, plans for the future include The Greenbrier and Sam Snead Enterprises developing a public museum in White Sulphur Springs featuring trophies, golf clubs and other memorabilia associated with Snead's extraordinary golf career; planning to revive The Greenbrier's annual Spring Festival celebration and the Sam Snead Festival Pro-Am Golf Tournament, beginning in 1994; instituting the Sam Snead Academy of Golf at the resort; and developing a golf memorabilia shop at The Greenbrier offering an exclusive line of Sam Snead signature apparel, golf equipment, accessories and reproductions.
 Rates for the "Play It Again Sam" Memorial Day Golf Tournament Package at The Greenbrier are $237 for golfers or $175 for non-golfers, per person, per day, double occupancy, and include breakfast and dinner daily in the Main Dining Room.
