CINCINNATI, Jan. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- The Future Now, Inc. (NASDAQ: FNOW), the Cincinnati-based computer reseller, today announced it has completed the acquisition of substantially all of the assets of Evergreen Systems, Inc., a computer reseller with operations in Brookfield, Kenosha and Racine, Wis. The purchase price was approximately $1,260,000, subject to post-closing adjustments. Of this amount, $850,000 was paid in cash; $150,000 was paid through the issuance of 15,000 shares of The Future Now common stock; and approximately $260,000 of long-term debt was assumed. President and Chief Executive Officer Terry L. Theye commented, "We are extremely pleased to be combining with such a quality operation, particularly in a marketplace with the opportunity provided by Milwaukee. As with each of our others, the synergies provided by this combination should be significant to the company in terms of both revenue enhancement and cost savings.
"The industry leaders during the 1990s will be those resellers who most effectively capitalize on the opportunities provided by the consolidation currently taking place in the industry. The Future Now is well positioned, from financial, managerial and administrative efficiency standpoints, to capitalize on these opportunities, and intends to do so."
