Lipman's two-run shot to right in the third inning gave host Royal (18-5-1) the lead after El Rancho (11-11) scored four in the top half of the inning on two hits, an error and a wild pitch. Casey O'Quinn and Buzz Byer also homered in the third to give Royal three homers in a span of four batters. The Highlanders have hit a school-record 44 home runs.
