Malcolm Norrington, the freshman basketball coach at Crespi High this season, has been named the varsity boys' head coach for Reseda, Crespi coach Dick Dornan said.

In boys' tennis:

Highlanders stay perfect: Granada Hills' top singles player, Lee Weinstein, defeated Chatsworth's Davey Asao 6-1, 6-0 as the Highlanders remained undefeated with a 7-0 rout of the Chancellors at Granada Hills. With the win, the Highlanders improve to 7-0, 4-0. Chatsworth falls to 5-2, 2-2.

In football signings:

In the Army now: Van Nuys lineman Darrell Stepter, an all-conference and All-City honoree, accepted an appointment to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, said Van Nuys coach Mark Pomerantz.
