Another ``American Idiot'' will soon be on a cell phone.

MTV intends to use the clips of the performers as a hook to lure viewers to the new service, reaching out to creative types to cook up several-minute features that incorporate the videos. It's already in discussion to bring back its popular puppet show ``The Sifl & Olly Show'' and the animated ``Beavis and Butt-head.''

``All the comic book-loving freaks who live in their grandmothers' basements can come back and create short content for MTV again,'' said Van Toffler, MTV Networks' president. ``And I mean that in the most loving way.''

 gives the video programmer the rights to create content based on nearly all of the label's artists, first streamed live via wireless connection and eventually available as video-on-demand. Toffler said the networks were currently in talks with all the major record labels to add their performers.

The service, which will likely be available for a subscription fee or as a la carte downloads for a still-undecided fee, will initially be offered to Verizon users with video-capable phones. MTV also plans to later add service to Sprint customers, along with 32 other providers in international markets.
