THE COUNTDOWN IS ON AS FANS AND CRITICS ALIKE AWAIT NOV. 4 RELEASE OF NEW RUSH LIMBAUGH BESTSELLER 'SEE, I TOLD YOU SO'

NEW YORK, Nov. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Booksellers across the nation have marked Nov. 4 on their calendars as the day to expect an unusually high volume of traffic. The occasion is the first day on sale of phenomenally popular radio and television talk show host Rush Limbaugh's new book, "SEE, I TOLD YOU SO." With an unprecedented, record high, first printing of 2 million copies, "SEE, I TOLD YOU SO" is clearly the publishing event of the fall season.
Pocket Books' great expectations for "SEE, I TOLD YOU SO" come on the heels of a year in which Rush Limbaugh has dominated both the airwaves and bestseller lists nationwide. Both the hardcover, paperback and audiocassette editions of "THE WAY THINGS OUGHT TO BE" have racked up some eye-opening bestseller statistics:
-- With a total sale of 4.5 milion copies in little over a year, "THE WAY THINGS OUGHT TO BE" is the fastest selling non-fiction book of the decade.
-- There are 2.4 million copies in print of Pocket Books' hardcover edition of "THE WAY THINGS OUGHT TO BE" after 32 printings.
-- The hardcover edition of "THE WAY THINGS OUGHT TO BE" was a 54-week New York Times bestseller, with 24 weeks in the number one spot.
-- The recently published paperback edition of "THE WAY THINGS OUGHT TO BE" was an immediate New York Times bestseller, and is currently in the number spot.
-- There are 2.1 million copies of the paperback edition of "THE WAY THINGS OUGHT TO BE" in print after 7 printings.
-- "THE WAY THINGS OUGHT TO BE" achieved the rare distinction of being a simultaneous New York Times hardcover and paperback bestseller.
-- The Simon & Schuster Audio version of "THE WAY THINGS OUGHT TO BE" has 250,000 copies in print, and sold a record-breaking 200,000 copies in just four months.
The numbers demonstrate that Rush Limbaugh has become an overwhelmingly popular national media personality. Pocket Books will also release a special gift edition of "SEE, I TOLD YOU SO," featuring Limbaugh's photograph on a slipcase embossed with his signature in gold foil: while this type of collectors item is usually printed on a small, limited basis, demand for "SEE, I TOLD YOU SO" has been so overwhelming that Pocket Books is printing 75,000 copies and expects to sell every one of them.

In addition to the unheard of 2 million copy first printing for the new hardcover, Simon & Schuster Audio has announced a first printing of 150,000 copies for the audiocassette version of "SEE, I TOLD YOU SO," the largest in audio publishing history.
Rush Mania around the nation continues unabated. On Nov. 7, Limbaugh will be inducted into the Museum of Broadcast Communications Radio Hall of Fame. Meanwhile, "Rush rooms," designated areas in restaurants where patrons can watch (or listen to) Rush while dining are cropping up everywhere. The Clinton administration has given Rush plenty of material for his new book, showcasing his provocative political commentary as he takes aim at Clintonomics, the role of Hillary Rodham Clinton, Diversity as Public Policy and other signs of what he perceives as liberalism at its worst.
Rush Limbaugh's radio show reaches 20 million people a week, making him the number one talk show host in America, and his highly rated syndicated television show covers 99.6 percent of the nation: consequently, any on-air mention of his forthcoming books sends his loyal fans running to the bookstores.
