 ROBERT S. WEISS TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
 NEW YORK, Feb. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- The Cooper Companies, Inc. (NYSE: COO) today announced that two corporate executives have been named to the company's board of directors.
 Robert S. Holcombe, currently vice president and general counsel, and Robert S. Weiss, currently vice president, treasurer and chief financial officer, were added to Cooper's board.
 Holcombe joined the company as vice president and general counsel in 1989, after having served as assistant general counsel of Emhart Corporation from 1988 to 1989. From 1979 to 1987, he served as vice president and general counsel of Planning Research Corporation and, from 1977 to 1979, as assistant general counsel and corporate secretary of Indian Head, Inc. Holcombe practiced at Dewey, Ballantine, Bushby, Palmer & Wood from 1968-1977, after receiving both his J.D. and M.B.A. from Columbia University. He is a cum laude graduate of Princeton University and a resident of Farmington, Conn.
 Weiss, elected the company's treasurer and chief financial officer in 1989, had served as a vice president since 1984 and as controller from 1984 through 1990. He was controller of Cooper Laboratories, Inc., Cooper's former parent, from 1980 until 1984. Prior to joining Cooper Labs in 1970, Weiss was a manager at KPMG Peat Marwick in New York City. He is a graduate of the University of Scranton and a resident of Pleasanton, Calif.
