THE COCA-COLA COMPANY SIGNS MEMORANDA OF UNDERSTANDING WITH VIETNAMESE GOVERNMENT BODIES

ATLANTA, Feb. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- The Coca-Cola Company (NYSE: KO) announced today the signing of memoranda of understanding with two Vietnamese government bodies to provide for future joint venture discussions which could lead to the eventual establishment of bottling operations. Last December, the U.S. Government announced new regulations which allow these arrangements.
The signings are with Vietnam National Foodstuffs Import & Export Corporation (Vinalimex) and with Chuong Duong Beverage Factory.
Vinalimex is one of Vietnam's largest food and produce companies and is under the administration of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry. The Chuong Duong Beverage Factory, under the authority of the Ministry of Light Industry, is Vietnam's largest soft drinks company. It was formerly a bottler of Coca-Cola.
