Broadcasting sources in Los Angeles confirmed that the show, which was to have been produced and distributed by DreamWorks SKG SKG Stichting Kwaliteit Gevelbouw (Dutch) SKG Spielberg, Katzenberg,and Geffen (DreamWorks Studios) SKG Thessaloniki, Greece - Thessaloniki (Airport Code) SKG Smith and Kraus Global starting in the fall of 1998, has been declared dead. It would have been Chung's first ongoing TV gig since losing her co-anchor seat alongside Dan Rather in May 1995. The official line is that Povich asked to be released from the project so he could continue doing his current daily syndicated talk show for Paramount Television. Unofficially, the Povich/Chung/DreamWorks show apparently died because no network station group would agree to buy and air it, effectively freezing it out of the country's biggest TV markets. The Povich/Chung half-hour was to have been the first syndicated show from DreamWorks, the broad-based production/distribution company founded by director Steven Spielberg, film executive Jeffrey Katzenberg and music mogul David Geffen. With the clout of the producers and the name recognition of the stars, the show was touted as all but certain to become a money machine for all concerned.
