'DESPERATE' T-SHIRTS: You gotta have a gimmick, the old song says, especially if you're a TV series looking to get noticed in the din of premiere-week promotions.

 is taking its marketing of ``Desperate Housewives'' (perhaps the only TV series that needs no promotion) in an interesting direction.

The dramedy series that launched its ``everyone has a little dirty laundry'' campaign last fall with ads printed on plastic dry-cleaning bags is using the medium again with black-and-white images of stars Felicity Huffman, Teri Hatcher, Eva Longoria, Marcia Cross and Nicollette Sheridan.

The theme this time is ``it's so juicy,'' depicted with the sweet, crisp sort of apple that might have started trouble in the Garden of Eden Garden of Eden

The pay-per-view broadcast will be available to a potential viewing audience of 80 million through various cable and satellite carriers for $19.95. He finished Friday with 69 hours, 48 minutes. After passing the previous record of 50 hours, 7 minutes Thursday, Joachim continued until shortly after 4 a.m. Friday morning Pacific time.

Joachim did his TV viewing in the lobby of WABC-TV as part of the ``Guinness World Record Breaker Week'' on the syndicated ``Live With Regis and Kelly Live with Regis and Kelly is a syndicated American television talk show, hosted by Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa. Before 2000, the show was known as Live with Regis and Kathie Lee, with Kathie Lee Gifford co-hosting with Philbin. .'' Sitting on a brown leather couch, he watched nothing but ABC shows. ``I'm going to be a little tired of watching TV after this,'' Joachim said.

Rules for the couch potato honor, as stipulated by Guinness, allow for a five-minute break every hour and a 15-minute break every eight hours. The viewer must otherwise be constantly looking at the screen.
