LIVE 8 STORMS TOP 10: Downloads of songs from Live 8 have been selling briskly around the world since Saturday's concerts. The opening song of the London concert, ``Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band'' as performed by Paul McCartney and Bono, was No. 1 on the Apple iTunes charts in Britain, Canada, Ireland, the Netherlands, Germany, Italy and Belgium, a spokesman for Universal Music International told the Associated Press. It was also No. 2 in Spain and No. 3 in France. (It was No. 8 on the American version of iTunes on Tuesday.) The first sale of the track was made just 45 minutes after the song was performed. McCartney's ``Hey Jude,'' which closed the London show, went on sale Monday. Universal planned to donate its share of the sales to Live 8, the spokesman said. Some performers at Live 8 saw significant sales spikes for their albums. Pink Floyd, which performed with Roger Waters, its bassist, for the first time in more than 20 years, had about 13 times as many sales of its ``Echoes'' collection at HMV HMV His Master's Voice

But the factors can be deceiving, since sales for those albums had been low: Despite the big gain, ``Echoes'' sold only about 1,000 copies at British HMV stores, the spokesman said. The BBC BBC
