Beatles in a box

Beatles fans - and there are a lot of them - are buzzing about the expected fall release of a new box set of the Fab Four's first four U.S. albums for Capitol in 1964.

The discs - ``Introducing the Beatles,'' ``Something New,'' ``The Beatles Story'' and ``The Beatles' Second Album'' - will be issued in mid-November to mark the 40th anniversary of the Fab Four's arrival on these shores. Beatlemaniacs may recall that ``The Beatles Story'' consisted of spoken word material.

The package will include remastered discs containing both mono and stereo versions as well as a 70-page booklet. The box lists for $50, retailers say.

Costner, Ryan on same road

Kevin Costner and Meg Ryan will team up for an adaptation of novelist T.C. Boyle's ``The Tortilla Curtain.''

The film deals with two families from different sides of the tracks whose paths cross after a hit-and-run accident. Costner will serve as producer on the project, which is now being considered by directors for shooting in Malibu.
