THE BUZZ SWEET SMELL OF SUCCESS.Byline: - Staff and Wire Services Scarlett Johansson, already the talk of Hollywood at 19 with two award- worthy roles in the past year, is getting ready to make a splash in the world of advertising. Calvin Klein announced Tuesday that the star of ``Lost in Translation'' and ``Girl With a Pearl Earring'' has been signed to represent a new fragrance in print and television commercials next fall. Kim Vernon of Calvin Klein's advertising and marketing division praised Johansson's blend of sophistication, confidence and sense of humor. ``Just when I thought things couldn't get better, something like this happens,'' Johansson said. MEL'S 'PASSION' IS ATTRACTIVE: ABC says its special Monday edition of ``Primetime,'' featuring Mel Gibson discussing ``The Passion of the Christ'' with Diane Sawyer, drew 17 million viewers. The 10 p.m. special gave the network its largest nonsports audience in the time period in more than two years and was ABC's biggest newsmagazine audience since Michael Jackson's interview a year ago. ``The Passion of the Christ,'' opening Feb. 25, already has generated a lot of talk about its graphic violence and the accuracy or inaccuracy of its depiction of Jews' role in the crucifixion of Jesus. GETTING OFF DUFF: Lindsay Lohan says she's tired of the drama between her and Hilary Duff. The star of the upcoming movie ``Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen'' and Duff both dated pop singer Aaron Carter and had a falling out that reportedly resulted in Duff asking Lohan to leave the premiere of ``Cheaper by the Dozen,'' in which Duff co-starred. Lohan now says their spat is ``silly'' and ``unnecessary.'' ``I mean, she's doing great. I'm a fan of hers. My sister loves her,'' the 17-year-old Lohan said on ABC's ``Good Morning America'' on Tuesday. ``I just wanted to let her know I have no problems and neither should she. We were friends.'' When Diane Sawyer asked whether her fight with the 16-year-old Duff was ``a high-school thing,'' Lohan answered, ``Yeah.'' ``It is the reason why I wanted to finish high school early because it is what you have to deal with in high school,'' the actress said. ``When you are working and stuff, the last thing you want to read is someone doesn't like you. Let it go, you know what I mean? I just wanted to clear it up.'' `ANGEL' GETS HIS WINGS: The WB has done what no vampire slayer could: It killed ``Angel,'' the do-gooder bloodsucker with a soul. WB network executives said Tuesday they announced their cancellation decision earlier than usual to give series creator Joss Whedon, who spun off the supernatural comedy-thriller from ``Buffy the Vampire Slayer,'' a chance to prepare for a grand finale. ``We did not want to contemplate this being the last year of 'Angel' without giving the show the option of crafting their own destiny for this character and for this series,'' WB co-chairman Jordan Levin said. ``Angel'' has struggled in the ratings, but maintains a loyal fan base and has had strong sales on DVD.
