Goshen Assembly of God - An illustrated sermon titled "In Memory of Freedom" will be presented at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at the church, on C Street off First Street in Goshen. The service will celebrate the nation's independence with videos, music and live sketches. Information: 895-5646.

Fourth of July Fourth of July, Independence Day, or July Fourth, U.S. holiday, commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence. Celebration of it began during the American Revolution.  Breakfast - Grace Lutheran Church, at East 18th Avenue and Hilyard Street, will host its 52nd annual Fourth of July breakfast from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. Monday. City Club of Eugene - The Rev. Dan Bryant, pastor at First Christian Church in Eugene and president of Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon, will discuss "Good God, Bad Government: When the Use of Religion Becomes the Abuse of Power" when the club meets at 11:50 a.m. Friday at the Hilton Eugene. Westside Christian Church - Calling Simon, a local Christian rock Christian rock (occasionally abbreviated CR) is a form of rock music played by bands whose members are Christian and who often focus the lyrics on matters concerned with the Christian faith.
