Unitarian Universalist Church - The Rev. Stephen Landale was chosen as the church's next settled minister on April 29. Landale, current minister at the Bell Street Chapel in Providence, R.I., was selected from 21 candidates. His term as minister begins Aug. 13. Kagyu Dakshang Chuling Dharma dharma (där`mə). In Hinduism, dharma is the doctrine of the religious and moral rights and duties of each individual; it generally refers to religious duty, but may also mean social order, right conduct, or simply virtue.  Center - An Amitabha Empowerment by Lama Tsang Tsing, resident director, will be at 1:45 p.m. today at the center, 917 East 43rd Ave. The refuge vow is required prior to the empowerment, authorizing participants to practice the meditation of Buddha Amitabha, `Infinite Light.' The cost is $20. Lama Tsang Tsing will lead a teaching and practice from 8:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. The cost is $30, and the practice text is $10. Bring a lunch. Saint Mary's Episcopal Church - Benjamin Britten's cantata cantata (kəntä`tə) [Ital.,=sung], composite musical form similar to a short unacted opera or brief oratorio, developed in Italy in the baroque period. , Rejoice in the Lamb Rejoice in the Lamb (Op. 30) is a festival cantata for four soloists, SATB choir, and organ composed by Benjamin Britten in 1943 and based on the poem Jubilate Agno by Christopher Smart (1722-1771). , will be performed at 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. Sunday at the church, 13th Avenue and Pearl Street. The Poodle Creek Pickers will perform music from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. The benefit will provide new hearing aids for a teenaged congregation member with a developmental disability.
