Fern Ridge Beef Pit Barbecue - Saint Catherine of Siena Catherine of Si·en·a   , Saint 1347-1380.

 Church in Veneta will celebrate its 50th annual beef pit barbecue from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday at St. Catherine There are seven St. Catherines:
  • Saint Catherine of Alexandria (4th century)
  • Saint Catherine of Siena (Doctor of the Church, 1347-1380)
  • Saint Catherine of Bologna (1413-1463)
  • Saint Catherine of Ricci (1522-1590)
  • Saint Catherine of Sweden (circa 1332–1381)
 Church Park, 25181 E. Broadway next to Veneta City Park. More than 1,500 pounds of beef will be cooked underground in a pit. Live music, silent auction, bingo, games, raffle. Information: 935-2334.

Living Word Fellowship - The Glory Road Travelers - Jerry Ott and Frank Walden - will perform country gospel music in concert at 11 a.m. Sunday at the fellowship, 92570 River Road in Junction City. Information: 998-2282.

Central Presbyterian Church Located on the northeast corner of Brazos and Bois d'Arc (now Eighth Street), Central Presbyterian Church in Austin Texas traces its roots to the organization of the first Presbyterian church in Austin on Sunday, October 13, 1839. That event, conducted by Rev.  - A Service of Wholeness will be offered at 10:45 a.m. Sunday in the church chapel, 555 E. 15th Ave. Through prayer, Scripture and music, blessings will be asked for those who are ill, injured and bereaved. Vacation Bible School (VBS) is the term for a special type of religious education which caters toward children, usually during the summer.

Spencer Creek Valley VBS See VBScript.  - "Solar Express: Powered by the Son' is the theme of a Vacation Bible School to be held Monday through Friday at The Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 85780 McBeth Road. The school, sponsored jointly by Spencer Creek Lutheran, The Good Shepherd Lutheran and Twin Oaks Christian churches, will run from 9 a.m. to noon and is open to all children from age 3 through sixth grade.
