THE BOC GROUP APPOINTS SEIFI GHASEMI PRESIDENT, PROCESS SYSTEMS, GASES AMERICAS

 MURRAY HILL, N.J., May 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Seifi Ghasemi has been appointed president, process systems, Gases Americas, for the BOC Group -- a worldwide leader in the production and distribution of industrial gases, health care, and vacuum technology. In this position, he will be responsible for BOC's large tonnage business in the United States, Canada and Latin America.
 Working out of BOC's U.S. gases headquarters in Murray Hill, Ghasemi also will assume the position of executive vice president, operations, Gases Americas. In this capacity, he continues to have line responsibility for production, engineering, distribution, energy, materials, information management, safety, environment and technology development activities for BOC's gases businesses in North and South America.
 Since joining BOC in 1979, Ghasemi has held positions of increasing responsibility in engineering, manufacturing, distribution, purchasing, sales and marketing. His latest position was senior vice president, operations and technology, Gases Americas.
 Ghasemi has earned a master of science degree in mechanical engineering from Stanford University. He is a member of the board of directors of the Compressed Gas Association and the National Petroleum Refiners Association. He also is a member of the American Institute of Mechanical Engineers and an associate member of the American Iron and Steel Institute.
 A resident of Gladstone, N.J., Ghasemi and his wife, Ellen, have a son, Bob.
 Headquartered in Windlesham, England, the BOC Group operates in more than 60 countries and registered sales last year of $5.2 billion.
