THE $5 COMPUTER SOFTWARE STORE ANNOUNCES S&P APPROVAL FOR CORPORATIONS RECORDS LISTING; BEGINS SHIPMENTS TO MILITARY LOCATIONS

SAN CLEMENTE, Calif., Dec. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- The $5 Computer Software Store (OTC: FIVE.U) announced today that on Dec. 1, 1992, it was approved by Standard and Poor's for its corporations records listing.
The company also announced that shipments of its displays have begun to U.S. Army/Air Force locations, under a $2 million contact awarded Sept. 10, 1992. Also, shipments are being made to Zellers of Canada with 173 stores, and to Sony of Canada with 65 locations.
$5 Computer Software Store disks are sold worldwide in brightly colored displays in airport gift shops, grocery stores and many mass merchandisers.
The new Tandy superstores "Computer City" has expanded the company's product line to all 18 of its stores; Biz Mart is currently selling in 10 areas; and Fedco is handling the product in 8 stores. K-mart Canada has the product in 97 stores nationwide.
The company also announced that gift shops in various airports nationwide offer the disks as alternative gift items and for business travelers to use in their lap-top computers. Those shops include Host, Paradies, Terminal News and Concessionaire.
Testing has also begun in a number of major mass merchandisers, discount department stores and grocery store chains, according to the company.
The $5 Computer Software Store markets more than 190 titles of business, educational and games software for IBM and compatible computers.
The company sells easy-to-use, five-star quality, fully documented and complete shareware programs for the novice to the knowledgeable computer user.
Shareware enables the buyer to use the complete program before determining, based on desire, to register with the author. Registration entitles the user to additional benefits the author may offer. This allows hundreds of authors to submit titles for selection without cost to $5 Computer Software Stores; therefore, they choose only the top quality, state-of-the-art programs.
A company spokesperson said "software authors are standing in line to get their programs accepted because $5 Computer Software Stores has made their software available to the masses for the first time. Coupled with the new lower prices on computers, the public comes out a winner."
