 THAMAN FORMS EXMOOR CAPITAL CORP.;
 INTENDS TO PURSUE INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITIES
 ST. LOUIS, Dec. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Michael E. Thaman today announced the formation of Exmoor Capital Corp. with a group of private investors. Exmoor Capital will pursue the acquisition and expansion of banking and financial services organizations in need of capital and management expertise. Thaman, presently executive vice president and chief financial officer of Landmark Bancshares Corp., will join Exmoor Capital as president on Jan. 1, 1992.
 Commenting on his decisions to form Exmoor Capital, Thaman said, "Some of these investors have been in contact with me for some time, but my entire focus has been the fulfillment of management's responsibilities to Landmark shareholders. During the past 13 months, Landmark's new management team successfully faced the challenges of addressing asset quality issues, maintaining liquidity and maximizing core earnings, while working to complete the merger with Magna Group Inc.
 "As we drew closer to completion of the Magna/Landmark merger, however, it became clear that the transition period following the closing would be the ideal time for me to move forward with Exmoor Capital. I have enjoyed working with the Magna management team and wish them every success with the combined company."
 Thaman, 42, has been chief financial officer of Landmark Bancshares Corp. since 1981. Prior to joining Landmark, he was a senior manager with the St. Louis office of KPMG Peat Marwick, Certified Public Accountants. Thaman received his B.S.B.A. degree from the University of Missouri at Columbia in 1971. He has been involved with several civic and charitable organizations and presently serves on the board of directors of Lauer Toys Inc.
