TEXACO REALIGNS FUEL AND MARINE MARKETING DEPARTMENT; Madeleine R. Marchese Appointed Associate General Manager of TFAMM; Department Also Makes Additional Management Changes.


announced today that it is realigning the Texaco Fuel and Marine Marketing Department (TFAMM) to reflect new business opportunities for the unit around the world and to further build on successes in the company's growth plan. As part of this realignment re·a·lign

, Project Director in Texaco's Alternate Energy and Resources Department, has been named Associate General Manager of TFAMM, effective January 1, 1996. Several additional key management appointments also were announced to further strengthen the organization.

Marchese joined Texaco in 1976 as Coordinator - Training and Productivity in the Corporate Services Activities that combine or consolidate certain enterprise-wide needed support services, provided based on specialized knowledge, best practices, and technology to serve internal (and sometimes external) customers and business partners.  Department in Harrison. She was named Assistant Manager - Administrative Services in that department in 1978, and the following year was appointed Manager. In 1980 Marchese was named Assistant Coordinator in the Alternate Energy and Resources Department, and the following year was named Manager - Administration and Human Resources The fancy word for "people." The human resources department within an organization, years ago known as the "personnel department," manages the administrative aspects of the employees.  Planning for that department.

Additional management assignments within TFAMM, effective Jan. 1, 1996, are as follows.

- William L. Rung, currently Assistant General Manager for

Lubricants and Technical Services, has been named Assistant

General Manager for Global Marketing, Trading and New Business

Development.

- Vincent A. Gargano, currently Assistant General Manager of

International Fuels, has been appointed in charge of the newly formed Pacific Rim area, including TFAMM's activities in the U.S. West Coast, Asia and the Middle East.

- Denis Denis, king of Portugal: see Diniz.  J. O'Meara, currently Assistant General Manager of U.S.

Fuels, has been named to head the newly formed Atlantic Basin

area, including TFAMM's activities in the U.S. East and Gulf

coasts, Canada, and Central and South America.

- Peter M. Meade, currently Assistant General Manager of New

Business Development, has been named in charge of TFAMM's

Global Marine Lubricants and Technical Service unit.

- Vincent P. Kyle, currently General Manager responsible for

TFAMM's European activities, will continue in that capacity.

TFAMM coordinates the worldwide marketing and trading of fuel oil to all classes of fuel users, as well as the sales of selected diesel fuels, lube oils and greases. In addition, TFAMM operates the company's first domestic used oil recycling facility in Marrero, Louisiana, which can process up to 50 million gallons a year of used automotive and industrial lubricants into distillate dis·til·late
